Do you mind if people use this in their D&D games? Also, do you mind if it is propogated to the roleplaying game community at large (especially to drow fans)? If it were allowed, would you want credit (such as always referring to it as Marziba's Drow Alphabet or something like that)? I won't use this without permission, but if you are ammenable to allowing it's use by others, please email me at jbgarrison72@hotmail.com and let me know as much... thanks!

I love this. Would it be weird if I learn this fluently, and wrote all of my notes in this? Oh, that would be weird? Nevermind... ... Still going to do it.

If you really want to learn it, try using it to write in the drow language (you can find all sorts of drow lexicons and dictionaries online). It's no weirder than learning to speak the language that the elves of LotR speak, really.

I have to ask, is this official? I mean when I search for it n Google close to nothing comes up. Is this alphabet from Wizards of the Coast?

No, it isn't official. WotC hasn't released anything in the way of an "official" alphabet for the drow, and I've seen other styles of drow script in artwork throughout the books (they weren't full alphabets that you could translate, though). It's mostly up to the reader to interpret what the drow alphabet looks like, really.

If you're interested, WotC has released a very short lexicon of the drow language, in the last few pages of Reader's Guide to the Legend of Drizzt.

Thank you very much. After a but of researching it seems to me the drow actually use Espruar along with regular surface elves.

That would make sense. How can you tell, though? Different authors use different versions of alphabets and languages as well, which can cause confusion.

I've seen several different ways to write the drow language, but this is the only font, and probably the only way to easily write it by hand (if you wanted to).

In theory would this be Undercommon? Seeing as a Drow would know Common, Elven, and Undercommon. Though this is awesome! Now I can piss off my group with this and the fact that I know Draconic and can write Dragon Script xD

First off... awesome piece. I can see this in some sort of scroll being taught to children at that early age of living in their houses... bad age for the male drow >_>

Question: Where can I find the original font? And who made the original script? I would really like to know.

Hi there, I saw your post as i was scrolling about looking for a to use the term "Drowphabet" *giggle* to use in a project im doing, i have a charachter im playing in a 5th Ed D&D game and he is a Rogue assassin who specializes in Apothecary/Alchemical poisons and potions, in game and for my own amusement in the real world i have take on the project of creating his Pharmacopoeia including all of the plants, plant like creatures and strange substances he has encountered on his travels, as well as contributions from other "People" who have had and "Passed down" the book. i would like to ask your permission to use the font as my characters drowphabet for writing the book. and while i dont intend or likely believe it will ever be published in the real world. i will of course credit you for the contribution as both The original "Creator" in the game (The Person/Character who started the book) as well as your name as you would like it to appear for real world credit. Please Message me and let me know if this is alright and if you have any questions comments, concerns, or special "entries" "Forewords" you would like included as character credit in the book, should you be alright with my use of the script.
